Press Releases For SEO ...

Press releases are often overlooked as a form of website promotion.

Press releases help as they are a quick way of getting a link to your website placed on high ranking websites.

It is possible to submit a press release which can have links back to your site via a press release distribution service like PRWeb - www.prweb.com.

With some services submitting a press release is free
but if you use a paid service you can expect
increased visibility and distribution.

As an example you can spend US$30 and the press release is distributed on the same day to Yahoo and Google News as well as online media outlets numbering in their thousands.
These press releases also have a long shelf life.

A press release has three cycles ...
  • It gets read in the first week of release when it is first distributed
  • It gets emailed and passed on, or is held for special interest editions – this occurs for 2-4 weeks after release.
  • It is picked up by newsletters and e-zines and newspapers that have spaces they need filled in future issues – 1 month-6 months

It is advisable to create a press release every 3 months promoting the same website if you want to get regular exposure and set new links in highly ranked, news sites. If you have different features to your site that are released periodically, like a new product or course you are promoting you can issue a press release each time. As long as you don’t spam the news wire service you should be successful with driving traffic to your site and increasing Search Engine ranking.

As an example, we recently submitted a press release for an e-book about cosmetic surgery and in the first 8 hours after the press release was submitted it was read by 6,000 news agencies and picked up by 77 broadcasters, within three days the numbers had increased to 15,000 news agencies and almost 200 broadcasters.

Don’t forget to place relevant keywords in your press release
so when the press release is indexed those keywords
are associated with your website.
